U.S. & Canadian Research
I provide expertise and access to many of the records required to research your family history. Whether you need help researching one person, one branch of your family or an entire family tree, I can help. Working with you, I will review prior research, define a research goal, create a reasonable plan of action and conduct the required research. This service is completely customized, based on your goals.
At the completion of the research, and after a thorough analysis of the evidence, you will be provided a formal report summarizing the research done and a list of detailed findings with full source citations. The report will contain a list of next steps for continuing your research. You will also receive copies of all documents that were found in the course of the research.
International Research
I have over 30 years’ experience in the records of the Germanic empire (covering current Germany, France, Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic and other Western European countries). Knowing how to get from the U.S. back to a place of origin in the home country can be challenging. Just knowing that your immigrant came from Prussia or Germany is not enough. I will help you locate the ancestral home and provide you with all documents found. Records can be in a number of languages, depending on the time period. Translation services are also available.
Consultations
Meeting with a professional genealogist skilled in your desired area of research greatly increases your chances of success. I understand that many people want to do as much of their own genealogy research as possible, but occasionally the assistance of a professional genealogist can make all the difference. If you are planning to visit the Family History Library, let me schedule you for one or more hours with a research specialist who can guide you to key sources and suggest new strategies for your ancestral problem.
Contact me to schedule your personal one-on-one professional genealogy consultation. Consultations can be conducted in person at the Family History Library, via email, or on the telephone.
